Taking care of the ponies
Hello Valued Supporters,
The new 2015-2016 academic year has begun. As we look forward to another inspiring and successful year, it is fitting that we reflect on the achievements of last year.
During the 2014-2015 school year, we provided this unique therapy to no less than 73 groups of children and adults from 36 institutions in and around Jerusalem.
Whilst this was not the first year that we were joined by three groups of Palestinian children from East Jerusalem, it was the first year that we were able to include an Arabic-speaker in our team of therapists. This allowed these children to receive treatment in their mother tongue for the first time. This was also a great experience for our team because it was an opportunity to bring together two cultures, providing the opportunity to learn from one another. Some of the Jewish therapists continued to treat Israeli Arab groups who came in previous years, and it gave them an opportunity to learn about the nuances of that culture in order to understand more deeply the inner world of children they cared for. I am very happy to report that our Arabic-speaking therapist will continue to be part of the therapeutic team this year.
Our team continues to be committed to providing the very best therapy and support to our special needs participants and we look forward to updating you further on our progress throughout the year.
Thank you for making this unique and special program helps possible so that those with special needs can overcome their physical and emotional challenges and to realize their full potential.
