There is huge demand for competent auto repair in Haiti. The roads are potholed and unpaved, and they take a toll on vehicles. Few auto mechanics have the equipment or the expertise to complete proper repairs, let alone work to international standards. Repair work consists mostly of band-aid attempts to keep vehicles on the road.
Extollo recently opened its automotive shop, and we’re training and employing new staff to fill the demand for professional automotive services. The team has been servicing Extollo’s fleet, and they are now ready to take on outside maintenance and repair jobs from clients around Bercy. Under the watchful eye of our US staff, they are completing comprehensive vehicle inspections, basic servicing, and gaining knowledge to take on more advanced repairs.
Roody’s inspection of this Daihatsu Terios unveiled a broken air filter, low brake fluid levels, and a failing battery with dirty terminals – just a few of the many repairs the team will encounter in this vehicle alone!
Because of your support, he now has a permanent position in the shop as Auto Maintenance and Repair Lead. Thank you for giving him this chance to earn a living in a trade and make travel possible for his friends and neighbors. You are a rock star!
