This project of AIDB organization aims to increase food security and income to 250 Batwa (indigenous peoples) by agriculture and livestock. The project goal is to contribute to the reduction of poverty in Burundi. The specific objective is to increase food security and income of 250 Batwa of Ntega commune before April 2020. Results are: 1) 5 tonnes of rice produced in 37, 5 ares; 2) 25 pigs distributed for 250 Batwa with Shaine of solidarity. Activities: Agriculture and livestock for 5000$
In Burundi, 12 million of population is under the extreme poverty from 2015 because of the civil war. Among this population, there are the category of community of Batwa who are victims of this situation of conflict as there are a longtime that this peoples are in the discrimination by other group of population. The livelihood is very worse day by day, and they can not eat three times per day. More 78000 of Batwa are not able to gain income because they have no land and employment in Burundi.
This project solves the problem by initiating the agriculture and livelistock of pics among of 250 Batwa. They will earn the income and food security in the household. Their children will have what they eat at returning from school.
The poverty in this community will be reduced, and the gouvernment will find the tax from these households of Batwa. This population will be integrated in the other peoples.
