Malawi Alcohol Policy Alliance (MAPA) will require financial support to disseminate information across Malawi against discrimination with people with albinism. The country has a large number of people with albinism whose rights are being abused. People need to realize that those with albinism are people like any one else and there is a need to live in harmony. A number of open day events will be conducted to inform all that whether albinism or not, all people are one
Malawi has of let seen a number of abuse cases of people with albinism. People have a wrong mentality that those with albinism are not like any other persons. They are being tortured, killed alleging that they are source of wealth. People with albinism have been living in fear of their lives. Some of our children with albinism are failing to attain education because of the threats that is there.
The project aimed at sensitizing the society that people with albinism are like any other person and that, it is wrong to think that they are source of wealth. There is only a difference in color because of lack of some other things by nature but everything is similar. There is no market for our friends and relatives with albinism and those who are doing so have never and will never get rich. It is our hope that such a message will not only reduce but bring to an end this barbaric altitudes .
People with albinism will, long at last live safer and happier like any other person because of the message that we are all one. Our young children with albinism will have no fear in going to attend their education and thus giving them equal opportunity to assist to develop not only their own lives, lives of their relatives and friends but also developing the community and the country at large
