The core objective of this project is to help out-of-school youth from different schools in Cameroon, by developing their skills & creating an emotionally safe place, to help them catch up with the topics they would have learned formally in school. The program curriculum is designed on 'Make learning fun' motto, to help youth understand & implement, theoretical & practical knowledge - in real life. The project also aims to develop interpersonal skills along with technical skills.
The so-called Anglophone crisis has hit Cameroon very heavily - which is a socio-political issue rooted in Cameroon's colonial legacies from the Germans, British, and the French - and which escalated in 2018 into civil-warlike conditions causing a heavy toll on Cameroon citizens. The conflict is fueled by the Cameroonian presidential election 2018, when people fear the government will only find short-term solutions due to International pressure, the crisis might escalate even further.
The proposed project aims to help disadvantaged children from different schools by developing their skills and creating an emotionally safe place to meet and improve the educational level of young people. An after school program will help them to catch up with some of the topics they would have learned formally in school. GMM has worked very hard to carry out several projects in Boyo Division of Cameroon. The organization has focused largely on Child sponsorship and women empowerment programs.
