This weekend marks 8 weeks until the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 comes to the Capital!
Thousands of cyclists will be taking to closed roads to complete the 100 mile cycle on Sunday 2nd August.
Action for Children has a team of 52 riders, including 2 DELL employees who have taken part every year since the event started in 2013. We will be there with our volunteers on the day cheering at three locations along the route and also at the meet and greet point in Green Park.
We're hoping for sunshine this year as the 2014 event was a wash out and 14 miles of the course was closed for safety reasons.
If RideLondon interests you...
We're taking names for the 2016 event already so if you would like your name added to the list, please email email@example.com
The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 announced their ballot in February and applicants found out if they were lucky enough to get a place in this year's event. If you were one of the luck ones to receive a place in the event, Congratulations! It is an amazing event to take part in and you will enjoy every minute of it.
If you missed out on the ballot this year and would like to take part in the event, Action for Children has charity places available. Registration for the event is £45 and we're asking riders to raise a minimum of £650 in sponsorship to help us be there for vulnerable children and young people now, tomorrow and every day.
We also have team entry schemes available with team sizes of 4, 8 or 12.
If anyone is interested in taking part in the event, please visit www.actionforchildren.org.uk/ridelondon to register for a place with our team.
The deadline for registrations is May 1st 2015.
Are you inspired after this year’s RIdeLondon 100?
Our riders made a tremendous effort, battling though the rain to reach the finish line in front of Buckingham Palace. Our 35 riders have helped us to raise over £20,000 through the event so far and the Dell riders helped raised £5,000 of this amazing amount.
A big well done and congratulations to everyone who took part from Dell and a big thank you to everyone who made a donation.
If you’re inspired by the Tour de France and RideLondon, Action for Children are accepting applications for the 2015 RideLondon event taking place on Sunday 3rd August 2015. For 2015, we are also offering a team entry scheme which allows teams to work towards a team sponsorship rather than an individual sponsorship.

Thank you to everyone who took part or supported the event in one way or another.
On Sunday 10th August, 35 riders for Action for Children took part in the 2014 Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100. The challenge started in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and follows a 100mile route out into Surrey's stunning country roads and hills, before returning to London to finish on The Mall, in front of the iconic Buckingham Palace. Unfortuntely due to the weather conditions on Sunday, Leith Hill and Box Hill were closed for safety reasons. All those who took part completed the course in under nine hours so it really was a challenge for all riders.
After a very wet and windy cycle ride through London and Surrey, all our riders were happy to reach the finish line and so pleased with their achievements. The weather forced the course to be shortened for safety reasons but all the Action for Children riders said what a fantastic experience taking part in RideLondon was and some even said they would do it again!
Of our 35 riders, six of those are Dell employees.
If you’re inspired by the Commonwealth Games and RideLondon, Action for Children are accepting applications for the 2015 RideLondon event taking place on Sunday 3rd August 2015. Email Challenge@Actionforchildren.org.uk for more details.
Taking place on Sunday 10 August 2014, this year’s exciting cycling challenge starts in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The 100 mile route then heads out into Surrey's stunning country roads and hills (including Leith and Box Hill), before returning to London to finish on The Mall, in front of the iconic Buckingham Palace.
All those taking part must complete the course in under nine hours, as the elite race, including many of the Olympic greats, will be hot on your wheels.
Action for Children have given Dell a number of exclusive places for this year’s event, so if you would like to sign up please contact Nicola Bogle on Nicola_Bogle@DELL.com.
So far we have six Dell colleagues who are taking part and raising money for Action for Children, and we wish you all the best of luck!
If you are one of the lucky ones to have been awarded a ballot place, then we would be delighted if you choose to join our team. There's no minimum sponsorship for own place riders and all you have to do to sign up is email Nicola Bogle on Nicola_Bogle@DELL.com.
