Practical Solution to Current Crisis

Rana on her Equipped Ride
Rana on her Equipped Ride

Dear Alhassan Foundation’s friends, believers & supporters,

We hope you’re all safe and sound during this tough time.

Nowadays equipped rides are more essential than ever given the COVID-19 global breakout. They represent a decent and cheap solution to the lack of accessible transportation whilst following social distancing measures. Since no one can tell how or when will this global pandemic end, we all need to adapt and find safe alternatives for wheelers to be able to run errands and keep their daily jobs without risking their lives. Owning an equipped ride is like having your own private transportation at very low cost.

In this project, we offer a private alternative to inaccessible public transportation and costly private transportation by providing tricycles to people who passes all official eligibility criteria. This tricycle can be drove by hand and has a place in the back in which wheelchair users can put their chair, secure it and move anywhere with it.

These equipped rides changed many wheelers lives. They facilitated the way wheelers go about their day either going to their school/university or going to their jobs or pursuing different hobbies. Their only way of doing any of this used to be by spending a fortune on daily private transportation which eventually led many wheelers to be homebound.

As for our accessible bus service, it’s temporarily suspended as we need to renew its license after quarantine. It’s also not advised to operate it during this COVID-19 crisis.

We would like to thank each and every one of you for your support. We urge you to continue supporting our cause and stay our enthusiastic donor through subscribing to a monthly recurring donation which will help securing more funds to help wheelchair users in Egypt be physically independent.
