Syria remains one of the most complex humanitarian crises in the world, with ongoing displacement, economic collapse, and severe food shortages affecting millions. As Ramadan approaches, countless families face extreme hardship, struggling to secure even a basic meal to break their fast. The ongoing economic and humanitarian crisis has severely impacted vulnerable families, making it impossible for many to secure food and basic needs during Ramadan.
Syria faces a staggering humanitarian crisis, with over 12.1 million people, more than half the population, and grappling with food insecurity (WFP). This means millions of families struggle daily to access enough nutritious food, a situation exacerbated by over a decade of conflict, economic collapse, and the devastating impact of the February 2023 earthquakes. As Ramadan is around the corner the families in Suria lack all means of support.
The Ramadan Campaign initiative for 2025 aims to provide essential food parcels and hot Iftar meals, ready to eat kit, bread and water to the most vulnerable families across the most affected areas in Syria. This project seeks to alleviate suffering and restore dignity during this sacred month.
The project supported SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) by alleviating financial burdens, promoting self-sufficiency and laying the foundation for long-term prosperity and SDG 3 (Health and well-being).
