young people with severe disabilities in Russia, who are rejected by their families and live in large residential homes, are provided with food and basic medical help only. They can not make even shorter strolls round the homes from the four walls of the facility they are living in - because of lacking care staff in state care homes. We provide shorter trips round the year and a summer camp they are waiting for the whole year, with full support. That also has a very well impact on their health
People with severe disabilities in Russia, who are left by their families, land after 18 in Residential homes where they are provided with food and medications only. This dull life has no chance for the equality declared by the Law .This project will affect more than 160 young people with special needs in one of the largest Residential homes for socially disadvantaged people in Europe. The Residential home is also a 45 minutes by train away from the city, which adds to social exclusion of them.
Perspektivy Charity provides to our fosterlings physical rehabilitation such as physical therapy, help in everyday things like eating/getting dressed (by our volunteers), diverse workshops like ceramic and wood workshops, cooking lessons and short trips all around the year to interesting places from mini-zoo to concerts. The whole year they are waiting for summer camps our organisation provides, which are a chance to get away from the four walls they are forced to live in and to see real summer
This project has to be a model for other Residential homes in Russia, we show, that provided with proper support even severely disabled young people can lead a full life. We are working towards the aim, that the things we provide now will get on the list that the State will have to guarantee them in the future. We have already achieved such changes in the Children's home in Pavlovsk: for a long time we prodided teachers for the kids there as Charity, but now all kids are taught by a State school
