The GlobalDevWomen podcast and radio hour empowers women and girls to rock in the global social impact industry! Our show pairs aspiring women leaders with dynamic women at the peak of their careers, to share in a unique mentoring session with exponential benefits. This project is a win-win-win: diverse women leaders are recognized; promising women receive mentoring; and healthy mentoring practices are demonstrated for others to replicate.
In 2018, Quantum Impact conducted the first-ever study of diversity among global social impact organizations: Realizing Diversity, Accelerating Impact. Our research uncovered an uncomfortable absence of women and especially women of color in the global development workforce; of the 206 organizations we surveyed, only one in three leadership teams were gender-balanced, and only one in five were racially and ethnically representative.
Your support will help fund the production and distribution of the first year's worth of inspiring content of the GlobalDevWomen podcast. Each episode begins with an up-close profile of a female mentor from the global social impact field. Our hosts speak with the mentor's current and former supervisors, supervisees and peers to learn what makes that mentor successful. Next, we invite up to three young women from the industry to interview our mentor directly on the show.
Your support will enable an unlimited number of listeners at home to learn how successful leaders have overcome adversity to break through the glass ceiling to get to where they are. You will help to empower a generation of social impact career women to become leaders in their own right, and in doing so, infuse our field with new thinking and more equitable solutions to some of the world's toughest challenges.
