This project invests in talents and resources of disavantaged girls, women, men and boys living in remote areas of Africa by creating volunteer opportunities from across the globe and in particular the United States and Sub-Saharan Africa to share their expertise and give back to the community. In so doping, a peaceful society which respects rights of girls, women, men and boys is created for a peaceful Africa and the world at large.
The main goal of this project is to empower over 200 disadvantaged men, women, orphans and HIV infected people living in remote areas of Sub-Saharan Africa and Tanzania in particular. A new grassroots empowerment model created in 2011 has delivered as planned and it is our hope that the model will be creatively strengthened to be used across Africa. We have taken on board the recommendations of the women entrepreneurs themselves for details please watch a video at http://youtu.be/FHFbktorIw
We employ a PARTICIPATORY approach in all of our interventions. This approach stresses the importance of taking local people's perspectives into account and giving them a greater say in planning, implementation, managing, monitoring and evaluation processes. We do believe that local people, community based organizations, grassroots NGOs and other stakeholders need to fully participate in their projects, if sustainability has to be attained.
To help women and men cope with the impact of fast globalizing world, we invest in women and men through cutting edge monitoring and empowerment techniques; the end product is empowered women and men capable of navigating a fast globalizing world and be free from the cycle of poverty. We also identify opportunities available in local and international contexts and invest to sustain benefits of our intervention. We currently impact over 400 lives and this will double in a year.
