Unlike the average land ambulance, our helicopter is manned by a paramedic and doctor team. With a doctor onboard, we can bring the skills and expertise of a hospital to the scene of an incident. Our pilots, paramedics and doctors work together as a team, along with other emergency services, to deliver the best care for patients. Speed is imperative for survival with major trauma incidents, and we can be anywhere in the Thames Valley within 15 minutes. SUPPORT OUR LIFE-SAVING CARE!
We rely on the generosity of the communities we serve. We are not government funded and receive no National Lottery funding. Donations are what keep our vital service operational. Our Vision is to push the boundaries of medical intervention, helicopter aviation and on-scene patient care to deliver a unique life-saving service to patients, where and when it is needed most.On average we attend six people a day in life-threatening situations.
It will enable Thames Valley Air Ambulance to continue to deliver advanced medical care to people in an emergency. Our crew are experts in their field. The care they give is second to none. It costs 2.50 per minute to fly our helicopter. In critical situations, a minute could be the difference between life and death. Last year TVAA attended 1,191 incidents touching many families across our region. We want to continue that vital support into the future.
Since 2000, Thames Valley Air Ambulance has attended over 18,000 incidents and offers a service to our community that no other local charity provides. We are the only charity in our region that provides advanced pre-hospital medical care when and where it is needed. It is a vital service providing life-saving care and intervention. The charity's mission is to ensure sustainable support so that money comes in today, tomorrow and in the future for critical medical care.
