Bawk Nu is studying a Master of Management and Organisational Development Program at Assumption University in Bangkok.
She plans to complete her studies by the end of 2013. She hopes to submit her research proposal in June, and defend her thesis in early November. Students are required to implement a real Organisational Development intervention as part of the research thesis. Bawk Nu will do her research project with KWAT (Kachin Women Association Thailand).
After she completes her Masters, Bawk Nu intends to continue in the management profession as her career, either with profit or non-profit organizations. She would like to become a professional OD consultant in the future and work with many organizations, to share her knowledge and skills with leaders and managers. She has not decided yet whether she will be based inside or outside of Burma (e.g Thailand). This will depend on the local situation after her studies. However, Bawk Nu wants to help organizations and communities of Burma.
Finally, Bawk Nu thanks her scholarship sponsor, and the We women foundation for granting her with a scholarship, and providing other non-financial support throughout 2012 academic year: “Without your [We women] support I would not be able to pay for my study because my jobs in the past were mostly volunteer-basis and community service, and I did not earn a big salary. I value your support which has made my dream come true. I look forward to your continuing support which will enable me to complete my Masters degree.”
