To become the innovative, biodiverse farm and intergenerational learning hub imagined, TYoFU needs essential technologies. Funds raised in this campaign will support: > 3 office laptops for vital operations work, > 5 bundles of data for internet connectivity > installation of 1 router, > 1 printer, > 1 milling machine, > the installation of 1 solar panel helping to power housing and facilities for farm workers, the well pump for clean water, and farm buildings and electric tools.
TYoFU is an NGO created by and for the community it serves. Some of the conveniences that come naturally in other places - access to electricity, laptops, internet, and other technologies - are scarce here. To become a sustainable, biodiverse farm and intergenerational learning hub, TYoFU needs essential technologies.
Investment in solar panels, office technology, internet access, a milling machine, and other agricultural technology will be a leap forward in the infrastructure required to sustain TYoFU's farm, advancement, and operations work. Sunlight is an abundant renewable resource that can power most buildings and machines on the farm. The office technology will allow TYoFU to continue building partnerships, gaining needed training, managing the administrative side of the farm, and reporting progress.
TYoFU's impact ripples across families, the community, and generations to come. Youth employed in an empowering environment improve their livelihoods and gain meaningful options for themselves and their families. Mentorship and exposure to multiple disciplines gives youth the agency needed to become innovative, community-minded leaders. A community wherein young people and local, healthy food are prioritized is more likely to enjoy wellbeing, an ethic of mutual care, and a sense of possibility.
