This micro-project will change the life of Dharani, an orphan girl by providing her opportunity to continue Bachelors' Program in one of the best educational institutions in Hyderabad. It will give her a golden opportunity to pursue the career of her dreams. The girl wants to a software Engineer after completion of her course. She scored 76% in her first year.
This project solves the problem of poverty and ignorance for Dharani who lost her father. Without proper education, Dharani would stop education or would be married off , would remain unemployed or unskilled bonded labor all her life. Education will ensure that she does not become mother at a very early age and face serious health and social/economic issues throughout the rest of her life. The project reduces the possibility of the girl becoming a victim of trafficking or any such crime
By providing Undergraduate education (BSc. Math, Statistics and Comp Science) along with counseling, providing education material support, computer, library access, shoes, test papers, required material to study well, the project makes it possible for Dharani to complete Bachelors in Sciences and look forward to a good job or higher studies. Her success story can inspire more girls to think big.
The project will provide education to 250 first generation school going girls and help them attain high school education at the least. Beneficiaries who complete school to secondary level are supported with higher education, training, apprenticeships and/or employment. About 150 families (750 people) will be direct and indirect beneficiaries of this initiative.
