The Covid19 pandemic has seen South Africa locked down for the past ten weeks, and schools have been closed. The learners at African Angels, who are unable to afford wi-fi, and do not own devices, not been able to participate fully in their education, due to the lock down. For these children, education is their one and only chance to transform their futures. They need to be able to attend school now!
Money raised will be used to provide nutritious food, safe, clean accommodation and extra educational opportunities for boys and girls who attend African Angels. The children will participate in, and benefit from, extended learning opportunities, one on one tutoring, extra mural opportunities, to not only 'catch up', but further concrete their learning. South Africa is only now approaching the peak of the Covid19 pandemic, keeping the children in a safe and contained environment is essential.
Every year we will see up to 20 poor and disadvantaged children graduate into high school from African Angels. Children who can succeed at high school, and access university opportunities. Children who can, in turn, get jobs, support their family, growing into good South African citizens. By the year 2020 we expect to see over 41% of families from our local community have a child attending African Angels. This means we will see an entire community change - through education.
