In Uganda the number of Covid 19 infections has risen sharply to 21,035 with total death of 205 only 8 months since the first case was recorded on 21st march 2020. Although government of Uganda is working diligently, the numbers are overwhelming, home based treatment was therefore adopted by government as available health facilities could not accommodate the rising numbers. Community infections are high, there is high risk of quarantined contacts moving out as most work for daily income
The organization will support the 16 quarantined families with medical masks, washing soap, sanitizers and food since all these do not have an income to buy food to supplement the little they have. The organization will facilitate the 3 medical staff with transport to do mandatory testing for 60 contacts, do household sensitization on Covid 19. The medical team will also distribute procured masks, food and other equipment to these households on behalf of the organization.
The project will reduce the impact of food crisis that capable of causing malnutrition, high mortality rates among children and diseases related to poor feeding practices.
