The project will purchase a fully equipped ambulance which will help transport the patients and their caregivers to and from their nearest health centres.
The road network is very poor with bad roads and far apart health centers. Critically ill patients have to be sometimes referred to another health facility. Sometimes these patients are too weak to move on motor cycles, many times patients that have been referred do not make it to the next health facility. Sometimes discharged patients are not able to follow up on their treatments.
The project will purchase a fully equipped ambulance which will help transport the patients and their caregivers to and from their nearest health centres. It will enable sick children, expectant mothers or elderly patient be transported and every referred patient will be transported to the nearest local hospitals. The fully equipped ambulance will ensure that the patients will be transported in the most humane and comfortable conditions, with all the urgency they deserve.
The project will benefit more than 5000 people. It will reduce the pain that patients endure and the days that children and their parents spent travelling to get to the health facility.
