This project intends to provide daily food rations for three to six months for 109 families in daily wage labor, whose livelihoods have been adversely impacted by the COVID19 crisis. It aims to rehabilitate and mitigate the effects of the COVID19 crisis through nutritional and health support.
With the global pandemic COVID19 crisis hitting India, the de-notified tribal community people have been affected in more than innumerable ways. The Indian government has imposed a lockdown and markets have had to shut operations. The livelihoods of these daily wage earners has been adversely affected and due to little to no preparedness they have no food rations for the coming days. This project provides nutritional support to 545 daily wage earners who reside in urban slums.
AIC provides nutritional, educational and health support to starving children and their families in the wake of this pandemic. The community is spreading awareness within each other and also practicing social distancing. AIC is also involving parents of the children in emergency preparedness for disaster mitigation for nutrition and medical support. Meanwhile teachers are engaging in online classes and academic learning for the children to support their education.
The project will secure the health of 248 children from these 109 families without them experiencing the worst of this pandemic, and providing for their current nutritional and medical support.
