Beautiful, smiling, sweet and non complaining Nardos. Her poor mother who is mentally unstable hit her so hard she pushed the little skull bone onto the underlying brain matter. We only found this out after she had been seen my a neurosurgeon in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
"We must cut away the bone that is pressing on her soft underlying brain." the surgeon told us. "It must be done quickly."
The hospital, a private hospital, very kindly gave us a discount and together with your help Nardos had surgery! A large soft space on her head now did not appear to bother her. She awakened bright eyed and yes, smiling!
Now over two months later and she is meeting all the normal development milestones. Check-up appointments have left the doctors surprised.
"No fitting (seizures) and no neurological symptoms! Remarkable!"
This is phase one for our little darling, at age two she will need an operation to cover the gap on her skull, but for now she wears a soft protective helmet.
Should you chose to give to Abraham's Oasis for this little girls future surgery, you are welcome to do so through one of our related children's projects.
You have made this effort possible through your amazing donations! A BIG thank you on behalf of Nardos!
