Our goal is to give an additional 2500 treatments to mothers, fathers, sons and daughters next year in our completed clinic in Chanauti, Nepal. You see, even though we gave over 2,500 treatments last year, there are still 15,000 people in the Sindhupulchouk District who do not have access to medical care AT ALL. Their homes and health centers were destroyed by the earthquake and not a single penny as been given to them by the government of Nepal to rebuild them.
MMW is constantly working to send volunteer acupuncturists to Nepal in order to provide the village of Chanauti with a viable form of healthcare. Additionally, we need to make sure that each volunteer has the proper tools to provide the necessary care.
Our goal for this campaign is to raise $5,000 by December 31st. If we raise that amount, we'll be able to provide 500 more acupuncture and herbal medicinal treatments for people this year than last year. My friends, we need your help to make it happen.
MMW provides an education in Chinese Medicine to a local Nepali students as a way of creating a sustainable form of healthcare within the community. Having the necessary supplies in the clinic helps to continue this mission, providing not only Bhotechaur, but many nearby villages with life-long, affordable community healthcare.
