Help keep our resident children safe within our school by replacing old, dangerous gates with new ones. One of our old front gates collapsed recently and urgently needs replacing. our back gate has had metal stolen from it and so people can climb in and out. Kampot is not a safe place at night because of drug-addicts and thieves. We must protect our children properly. Due to Covid 19 and the economic repercussions, we haven't found willing local sponsors.
New gates at the front and the back of our school, will protect our children and staff from any unwanted intruders. Additionally a new front gate will ensure that there are no accidents, as the old one collapsed recently.
Our children resident at our school, have lost their parents, or have been abandoned and abused. Some of them also have serious illnesses, such as HIV and epilepsy. We also take care of blind children and youth. We care for our children from an early age until they are ready for graduation and either higher education or work as young adults. It is imperative that we are able to care and protect them properly.
The 25 children who stay at KCDI have the possibility to build a future in a safe and caring environment. Being able to receive free tuition allows them to study scholastic education from primary school to university level, Cambodian music, dance and theatre, vocational training and training in performance and transition into young adulthood, giving these young students the only possibility they have of building a future. Since 1994, 450 students have already graduated with positive results.
