Earlier this month we helped Lindsay and her daughter Olivia escape abuse in Columbia and return to the USA. Lindsay suspected her abusive husband was also sexually abusing Olivia. Olivia has not been her happy self. She is quiet and withdrawn. We have them safe in shelter. Lindsay has connected with local resources for food stamps and counseling for Olivia. We need to raise $1,200 to pay for the first months rent and deposit so Lindsay and Olivia can move into their own place and heal.
Lindsay and Olivia fled Columbia with nothing except one back pack each. They are in shelter now and Lindsay is connecting to resources. But they are limited. We need $1,200 to pay the first months rent and deposit. Lindsay is already looking for work and just needs help to start over again.
Lindsay & Olivia will be able to move out of the shelter they are in and live in peace in a safe home in the USA.
The project serves 500 women per year empowering them to find alternatives to a life of violence so their children grow up in violence free homes with their self-esteem in tact with the hope of stopping the cycle of violence in future generations.
