We will be working with local Rotary clubs & schools to identity vulnerable families, with young children, or elderly grandparents combining household to survive. Many Families are still without homes. It is common for several households to all move into one damaged home due to the others being totally destroyed. With Christmas coming we want to fill the gaps of their needs, some maybe food, or medical supplies others basic living supplies. The need is still great.
Families are still in need of everyday things we take for granted. A roof that doesn't leak. A house not covered in Mold, Vehicles that aren't damaged or destroyed, A steady pay check to buy food and medical supplies. The lack of many items in a devastated community will addressed.
We will identify families hardest hit as mentioned though local Rotary Clubs and Schools and meet as many needs as we can with donations received. Examples are food baskets, Clothes for their children, Medical supplies for the elderly, small heaters for the winter more tarps for their roof or roofing material to patch. Mold killing agents and sprayers, etc. This is a hard working fishing, crabbing and shrimping, community knock to its knees but not out.
The deployment of an equipped Relief Trailer allows the Disaster Aid Response Team to quickly assess the needs of the people suffering from the effects of a disaster to minimize human suffering, potential financial impacts, and loss of life. Relief Trailers, along with the supplies and volunteers it brings to disaster locations, encourages a partnership with other emergency response volunteers who are able to effectively work with local emergency responders. Help DAUSA on their road to relief!
