During the Ebola epidemic in Sierra Leone, teenage girls (particularly those orphaned when their families passed away) were out of school and more vulnerable to rape and sexual assault. Many of them became pregnant and are now new mothers. Nancy is one of these young girls and had her son this past October. Nancy needs help completing her education to provide a better life for herself and her sweet baby boy. This project will provide Nancy with the funding to complete her education.
The inability of a young mother to continue school can be one the most harmful and psychologically distressing aspects of motherhood - with an additional crippling, long term, career impact. This project will ensure that Nancy receives the higher education she needs to pursue a career and to provide for her and her son.
We are offering a viable alternative and support to help young mothers continue their education. Funds from this project will help Nancy attend college and eventually become a lawyer - her desired future profession. Your support will help provide all she needs to be successful in college and ensure that she completes her education.
Healthy, well-educated and emancipated women are an excellent foundation for a new and free society. Your support will help Nancy to finish college, become independent and self-sufficient. In her chosen future career as a lawyer, she will also be contributing to national development.
