Traffic in Freetown can be horrendous! It could take you one hour to cover 1 mile. Our staff sometimes spend a significant portion of their day using public transportation when doing beneficiary follow up, getting photos and planning project activities. This unfortunately has delayed the ability for children to respond to their donors. This project will raise the funds to purchase a much needed motorbike for the coordinators to use for beneficiary follow ups.
Traffic in Freetown can be horrendous! It could take you one hour to cover 1 mile. Our staff sometimes spend a significant portion of their day using public transportation when doing beneficiary follow up, getting photos and planning project activities. Some weeks, this amounts to over ten hours weekly - either waiting for a bus or stuck in gridlock traffic. This unfortunately has delayed completing of tasks and even getting information on project reports.
We would like to purchase a motorbike that our staff can use to move around. This will help us get a lot more done each week - and be able to increase our impact. Funds raised from this project will cover purchase of bike, 2 helmets, raincoat and insurance.
This project is helping the coordinators reach more girls by making transportation to beneficiaries less time consuming. When the mother of the home is educated, the health, well-being and success of the entire family is propelled forward and transformed. Educated girls educate the entire nation
