There is a shortage of reading books in most homes in Africa. We only have a small number of children's books at the Develop Africa's Dream Home for Ebola Orphans. This means that the kids only have access to a limited number of reading books. We can together change this by providing Amazon Kindle eReaders loaded with hundreds of age-appropriate childrens' eBooks. Access to eReaders will stimulate a love for reading, boost their learning and open up a new world of opportunities.
This project will solve the problem access to limited access to children's' books. The kids currently do not have a library of age-appropriate books at the Home. Furthermore, some of the kids do not appear to like reading story books etc. This project will change this through the use of technology and modern eReaders - with a wide range of eBooks installed. This will open up a new world of learning and opportunities to the Dream Home kids.
Reading and the desire to learn are important aspects of on-going self growth and development. Access to eReaders will help stimulate a love for reading. The eReaders will provide access to a library of books that will help inform their young minds, stimulate an interest in learning and provide access to an almost endless information resource. The kids will also be able to further improve their reading skills.
This project offers tremendous benefits in terms of being able to help deserving children grow and mature into model adults that will impact their communities and nation - and even the world. These children will be change agents in their communities. The values of hope, hard work and confidence - that they are learning will serve them well in the future - as they mature into future, model leaders.
