Stacy is 14-year old girl, who is full of potential. She took the BECE exams in July. Her father has been unemployed for several years. Her mother is struggling to support her family of 4 kids through her small business, selling coal. The business has been slow - negatively affected by rising inflation prices and the devaluation of the Leone (local currency in Sierra Leone). Funds from this project will bring a huge relief to the family ensuring that Stacy is able to stay in school.
Stacy's family lives on less than a dollar a day. Each day, Sarah, Stacy's mother, struggles to put food on the table. Stacy and the 3 other kids are at risk of permanently dropping out of school. Their future is bleak and uncertain. She is a brilliant and hard-working student - very deserving of our support.
Funds from this project will cover the immediate school-going costs for Stacy - uniforms, books, school supplies, school fees, and related costs. Funds will also cover school lunch, transportation costs to school - bus fare. This is a great opportunity to make a huge difference - ensuring that Stacy continues in school for another year.
This project will help bring Stacy one step closer to becoming a well-educated, gainfully employed and self-sufficient woman. As an empowered woman she will be a pillar of her future family. When the mother of the home is educated, the health, well-being, and success of the entire family are propelled forward. Stacy has a bright future ahead. We are super excited that we can help her advance academically.
