Report: Helping Farmers fight Hunger & Child Abuse

By Brocks Poka | Founder/ Executive Director - GOLD Liberia

We are overwhelmed by your kind support and looking forward to working with you.
The entire fundraising target is $2000.00 and together in our joint effort, we have successfully secured the among of $1155.00, which we believed it's a great mark in this fundraising expedition. However, we are still looking forward to restart and continue the fundraising on Global Giving, to meeting our balance funding target of $845.00 for the second phase of the project implementation.

The project is a six month pilot project located In a small rural community called Gbeah's Town, where 98% of the population is a smallholder farmer. The initial funding of $1155.00 raised will be used to govern 10 smallholder rural farmers into a corporate, provide them with training on the use of fertilizer to unlock a significant crops yield ; and supplying them with agricultural tools and materials in three months period.

The second phase of the project also intends to organize a workshop on effective leadership and advocacy for 10 local government representatives (Town Chief). The workshop is purposed to educate local government representatives how a community can create a pathways for action, group engagement - becoming part of government and participating in its processes, sharing ideas and holding government accountable on promises to provide quality health care and educational services, construction of farm road to market and making available safe drinking to the citizens of that farming community.

The second phase of the project will also provide quality training to volunteer teachers in rural schools and supply primary education materials to children in the nursery school. It will further reform policy with communities leaders that will encourage early learning practices in the community.

We can successfully achieve our project goal, if we continue to work together in raising the balance funding target of $850.00.

Our greatest fear is the failure to raise the full funding target, which may likely make it impossible to reach our project objectives.

We are  very excited working with you and will remain committed in using you donations for its ultimate purpose.

Sincerely yours
