Dear Friends and supporters,
What joy a simple toy can bring!
This is Riya and I am writing this report for the Toys appeal.
As you know toys can play a vital role in helping to comfort troubled children here at Rescue Junction especially as these children have never owned a toy before . We carefully chose toys that were simple yet fun and did not need batteries . They were all distributed very carefully.
As children who come to Rescue Junction are often distressed a toy can be immediately comforting.
We have also due to this campaign and a previous campaign able to build up a stock of educational toys for classroom use at our village schools, as one of our teachers said at a meeting,
“We want to make lessons interesting for the children, not just interesting but fun too, toys can have a vital role in bringing joy to learning”
We were able, thanks to you to distribute dozens of toys not only educational ones, and one of my favourite moments was when a little girl placed her new soft toy puppy under her pillow at Rescue Junction saying “Rajgoola (the name of an Indian sweet) likes to go to bed early”
