Due to a misunderstanding and technical issues this project was not posted in a timely fashion and was given less than ninety days to fully fund which clearly did not happen. The project has been re-posted without the ninety day time limit and the one donation received previously will be credited to the new project which is project #15849. We are very hopeful that the project will fund very soon giving the girls and women of Xolsacmalja, Totonicapan, Guatemala improved access to technology. Not only will they receive new computers and improved access to the internet but they will also receive access to offline education content for use when internet is not available. The offline content is dubbed RACHEL (Rural Area Community Hotspots for Education and Learning) by the developers. For $100 library users can have access to Khan Academy math and science videos in Spanish, the Spanish version of Wikipedia, hundreds of books, health guides and more. RACHEL is not only useable without internet but also without electricity using a battery pack and tablets.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
