Our current Program Director, Michael Estill, first joined our team in an unofficial capacity. He has not only strengthened our existing sites and the diversified the curriculum that they employ, but we have been able to form new and exciting partnerships that will help us nearly double our program coverage this upcoming year! Michael has become an invaluable member of our team that we'd frankly be hard pressed to replace. We need to compensate him as a full time Director.
We here at Magic Classroom fundraise towards the expansion of our innovative rural preschool program, generally asking for support with things like teacher stipends, books, materials and the like. However, as our program gets bigger and more ambitious we now realize that stability at the top of the organization is just as important as our efforts on the ground. We are now asking for a little help to keep things running smoothly as we continue to innovate and expand.
With over three years' experience living and working for different successful non-profits in Guatemala in various influential capacities, an advanced command of the Spanish language and strong relationships with our existing partners and contacts in the field (among other attributes), Michael has become an invaluable member of our team that we'd frankly be hard pressed to replace. We need to have him as a full time person committed for the full school year.
Providing programs to underserved indigenous areas will help stem the tide of failure in primary school by preparing children to learn. Training community youth to be program facilitators will create jobs for them and raise awareness of early childhood learning among parents. Longer term, early learning can have a significant positive impact on children's future opportunities and livelihoods as adults. Magical Classroom plans to roll out the program in 10 communities over the next 2 years.
