Firefighters Against Cancer has been an incredibly successful campaign, and we want to tell you all about it! It was designed by Fundación Bomberos de Argentina with support provided by Mensajeros de la Paz Argentina.
During 2022, different communication strategies were carried out to provide information on this illness, especially on international days related to it. We worked on content about the prevention of Cancer to spread among the community and local volunteer firefighters.
We produced graphic material to hand out to Volunteer Firefighters Associations all over the country for them to publish and enhance its impact. Some of the locations that participated in the campaign were Cerrito, San Antonio, Chimpoy, and Santa Lucía, among others. We also delivered printed copies that were sent together with the Volunteer Firefighters Federation Council of Argentina magazine.
We also focused on developing audiovisual material with the aim of growing our campaign audience. These videos highlight the dangers of carcinogenic particles that firefighters are exposed to during a fire. You can find our videos here:
A very crucial element of this campaign was “The Pink Helmet”, seen in the South American Women´s Boxing Title televised on TyC Sports, to bring awareness to breast cancer among female firefighters.
None of this would be possible without your help. The microproject might be completed, but the Campaign is not even close to being over. We´ll keep highlighting the dangers of this illness and intensifying our role as Firefighters Against Cancer in Argentina.
