Daily wage families including pavement dwellers of Ekkaduthangal and other daily wage families of Napalayam - Manali and Velachery - Tambaram in Chennai and Kelambakkam area in Chengalpattu are suffering on account of the high velocity Vartha cyclone which devastated Chennai - Kancheepuram - Thiruvallur on December 12,2016. They are without food because of no jobs. It will take 45 days to revive daily wage jobs. They are the voiceless people who do not have many supporters. They need your help
The daily wage pavement dwellers are seriously affected by Vartha cyclone because of not having food supplies and lack of shelter to cook food. The immediate need is to give them rice and groceries to cook food. VOICE Team and other friends provided cooked food, water and candles. They appreciated. Now, they want to restart their life by cooking and regaining their health to be able to take up daily wage jobs after mid January 2017. Some of them have cooking vessels we gave through Global Giving
VOICE Trust and other local partners will provide 1 bag of rice (25 kilos) and groceries for 1 month so that they can cook food and eat during this time when they don not get daily wage jobs. They consider this help from friends through Global Giving as a self esteem gesture because they consider respect in life. They are capable of working and earning. They are confident that they can revive their respectful life with the emergency relief extended to them by friends through Global Giving
