Summary

This project provides daily nutritious meals to 50 neglected elderly people living in a slum in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh India. These lonely elderly have been suffering from hunger and ill health. Due to poverty some families are not able to feed these older persons , some of them use to beg at neighbor houses, nearby locations to feed themselves. Just $ 500 will be sufficient for one month daily meal supplies to 50 elderly. Please join us to support with a small donation to neglected elderly.

Challenge

At least 2000 neglected elderly are suffering from starvation, ill-health in our project areas. A few of those elderly are living alone in huts without anyone's care and support. Self Cooking is a physically difficult and impossible process for these elderly. Due to Covid lockdowns and unemployment, it is very difficult to get even a meal from others in the locality. Lack of enough nutrition leading to the decrease of quality life and declining health conditions.

Solution

This micro project provides daily nutrition meals to 50 destitute identified elderly people in the slum for a period of six months. Elderly are able to eat a timely meal every day without begging and not depending on others who are not taking care of them. The selected elderly are improving their health conditions include physical and psychological and confident and able to see their personal care themselves. Dignity and protection will be creates for the elderly in the slum community .

Long-Term Impact

50 neglected aged people from the two location in Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh will access daily meals from community kitchen. Protected, respected, responsible and share love and care each other collectively experience joy and happiness with improved health. Increase the life span of aged people who are currently suffered at risk of starvation will have better healthy habits. The established aged care homes will serve continuously to all the needy aged people in the slums permanently.
