Summary

All schools in Costa Rica are still closed due to the COVID 19. The ILORI Educational Program is open as children in the Carpio community are highly vulnerable due to unhealthy living conditions and poor nutrition. We work so that 200 children continue to study with onsite & online classes. We provide nutritious meals, a safe environment with personalized, professional attention. We support the mothers with food and sanitary items. We follow the strictest sanitary protocols.

Challenge

In Costa Rica schools are closed due to COVID. 200 at-risk children need a support network to continue their education as parents lack the educational skills, access to technology and internet to support their children academically. The ILORI facility has installed new sanitary amenities & needs a constant supply of safety equipment & sanitary products. We need to invest in virtual educational materials & extra work hours, as social distance protocol radically reduces the student-teacher ratio.

Solution

Your donation will support the ongoing education and guarantee the safety of 200 at-risk children during this crisis. It will help us buy a continuous supply of safety equipment, sanitary products & nutritious food. Also, you will enable us to create virtual educational materials to improve the online learning experience. Will provide much needed extra work hours to support the mothers and ensure all the children get the necessary individualized support.

Long-Term Impact

Your support will greatly impact the lives of 200 hundred at-risk children and their families. It will protect their health & well-being during these uncertain times. It will allow them to successfully complete their primary school education and continue to high school and so secure their futures. This will also have a very positive, long-term impact on their community.
