Mensajeros de la Paz plans to re-open an educational center that provides free education and meals for children and adolescents who come from the poorest neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. Our sites in Buenos Aires provide certified teachers, books, school materials, meals, and healthcare to over 250 children per year. The current economic crisis has diminished the value of the Argentine Peso by over 35% this year, making it more challenging to fund additional centers.
As a result of the current economic crisis, we have had to temporarily close one of our educational centers serving over 50 children. As a consequence, these children are now at a higher risk of dropping out of primary school. According to a recent article by UNICEF Argentina, economic crises have proven to be worse for children and adolescents already living in poverty. This project will enable us to help more families and children in need during this difficult economic crisis.
This project will fund the re-opening of our recently closed site and provide school supplies and recreational materials for 50 children. Mensajeros de la Paz provides homes, educational resources, healthy food, a vibrant community, and inspiration to children from marginalized families living within Buenos Aires. In times of economic crisis, we need to provide more support with fewer resources.
This project will provide much-needed education and support to 50 at-risk youth and adolescents living in hardship during the current Argentine economic crisis. By empowering children with education, we are strengthening their resilience to life challenges, opening doors of opportunities for their future, improving their confidence, and inspiring hope. Improved education opportunities will ensure a better future for these children and their subsequent generations.
