During 2020, our nonprofit distributed nearly double the basic needs items it had over all of 2019 - only halfway through the year. With COVID-19's economic impacts, we've seen a sudden increase in people in need. This was our call to action to respond, and it also meant we needed to grow. We will officially be moving to a new warehouse space to accommodate our much needed operations, and we would appreciate your support in helping cover expenses related to the move.
Distributing more than 1.5 million products to people in need is no simple task. It requires warehouse space, logistical processes and people to receive, sort and distribute items. While we were fond of our Hope Factory in Little Chute, we did not have adequate space to effectively manage our capacity and respond to community needs.
Our new warehouse provides much more space for effectively sorting and storing items. It also multiple private rooms we will be able to use for volunteer groups large and small to participate in much needed help sorting items for our warehouse. With this space we'll be able to host multiple volunteer groups at a time, and more effectively manage the logistics of basic needs items going in and out.
We know alleviating the financial burden of basic hygiene supplies creates room for people to afford more basic needs. Providing hygiene items therefore becomes an essential tool in empowering people to live clean, healthy and active lives and make a big difference toward the movement to end poverty. Our new warehouse space allows us to effectively provide more hygiene products to partners and people in need.
