In India, particularly in rural communities, the girls who have lost their father (the breadwinner) and belonging to poor economic conditions have very limited opportunities for higher education.
Educational support through Buds of Christ with the support of GlobalGiving has built the lives of more than 60 orphan girls in our district. Through the education support initiative, young girls are pursuing graduation and some are pursuing post graduation too.
For the academic year 2018-19, four of our girls have entered into higher education, Jeyakodi is in First year BSc Physics, doesn't have both parents but under the care of grandparent. Uma Maheswari is in her Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Sangeetha is doing her Diploma in Pharmacy and she is a single orphan, Bharathi has completed her B.Sc Nutrition and Dietetics in first class and pursuing M.Sc Clinical Nutrition, 1st year from a very poor widow headed family.
We at Buds of Christ along with our children extend our warmest and sincere thanks to all the supporters of GlobalGiving. Because without such regular contribution, our girls would not be able to reach these heights in life.
