This micro project will help around 100 orphan children affected by HIV/AIDS and their caretakers find love, hope and joy during this holiday season. We do this by organising a "celebration event" where orphan children will showcase their talents through songs, skits and dance. Grandparents and, widow mothers will be invited, one set of new dresses, 1 umbrella and a good lunch will be provided for every orphan child.
More than 600 children living with HIV are identified and treated in our district. Most of these children have lost both or one of their parents. Buds of Christ currently reaches out close to 90 children living with HIV and among them 25 have lost both their parents. Majority of these children do not have hope about their future and are in constant trauma of the disease and treatment process. This project will help children and caretakers find joy and hope about their future.
Buds of Christ organises this annual event during holiday season to bring all the HIV affected children and their caregivers as a great family get-together. This event will help them to meet with one another and realise that they are not alone and there are many who are living with HIV. This will give them hope and confidence to see a better future for themselves. The event will enable orphan children to show case their talents like singing, dancing, skit, thus finding hope amidst fear & trials.
We will focus on 50 adolescents living with HIV (ALHIV) support them on basic health needs, continue their education, and empower them on living life positively by understanding adolescent changes, sexual and reproductive health, build self esteem, communication skills, set goals for life, practice a daily routine of healthy habits, grow up with values and good behaviours, influence peers positively. Trained ALHIV will emerge as Leaders to impact over 9000 children living with HIV in the state.
