This project is fundraising $1500 to buy a motor bike to enable implementation of project activities in Mpigi District-Uganda. Mountains of Hope works in hard to reach areas with poor road network. The new motor bike will enable staff to monitor children Education, child protection,Health and community interventions among others. A full comprehensive insurance and one year warranty will be secured to make it more safe and secure.
Our implementations are in hard to reach communities in Mpigi district, the community workers some times fail to fully monitor the progress due to lack of transport to reach the community. Most times we have to either walk over 20 kilometers to the field or hire one, a hired bike takes only one person with a rider thus limiting implementation.
Interventions will be well monitored and implemented by the field staff with our own bike. Each staff and volunteer is required to have a valid driving/riding permit with a riders class stamped on it.
The existing budget supports the servicing and mechanical repairs of the bike. The available fleet management policy will ensure the bike is kept safe and secure hence serving for along time. The rider is to provide weekly and monthly reports on the status of the bike. Apart from emergency situations, the bike will be for official use only.
