Alessandra went to Peru to teach English in September. She befriended a young Peruvian man who showed her all around Lima. They toured the countryside on his motorcycle, parasailed and had picnics. They fell in love. Soon after he started criticizing her, controlling what she did, and then became physically violent. Alessandra does not want her parents to know. She just wants to come home and needs an additional $500 for her airline ticket.
Alessandra loves Peru. She also fell in love with a young Peruvian man who has become very jealous and abusive. Alessandra just wants to come home but does not want her parents to know she is being abused. If she asks them for money they will ask questions. She needs an additional $500 for her airline ticket.
Alessandra will be able to come home to her parents and get away from her abuser in Peru. She plans to live with her parents and go back to college.
The project serves 500 women per year empowering them to find alternatives to a life of violence so their children grow up in violence free homes with their self-esteem in tact with the hope of stopping the cycle of violence in future generations.
