There is only so much one can read about what's happening on the ground in Israel/Palestine. Achvat Amim granted me the opportunity to bear witness to the realities that Palestinians and Israelis are living each day, and helped me foster relationships with people who I am honored to stand in solidarity with.
Now more than ever, we live in a context of increased separation. Between Israeli and Palestinian societies, and between the reality on the ground and the policy and discourse in the West, which effects all who live here. These separations further entrench the occupation and growing inequality. There is a growing demand for critical educational frameworks that encourage real change making. The systems of domination and separation are ours to dismantle through solidarity, education, and community
Achvat Amim's learning arc asks the question: how does understanding the way power works empower us to unlearn relations of domination, and instead establish relations of reciprocity in their place? Through critical education and solidarity, we empower and educate Jewish community, which acts in partnership with Palestinian and Israeli activists in pursuit of a shared future for all.
Our strategy is to: 1. transform our own Jewish communities 2. bring more young people into the movement 3. develop leaders who can connect between activists on the ground and international movements. At a time when activist spaces are rapidly shrinking, we count on you to help fund another year of programming, support partnerships that are based in solidarity and resilience, partnerships that withstand crises.
