Ramatu would love to be trained using a new professional sewing machine. This will enhance her learning as she currently only has access to manually operated, foot-pedal sewing machines. Access to a new sewing machine will further broaden her tailoring skills and earning potential for future income-generating opportunities.
Ramatu was unemployed before coming to our tailoring school. She has learned to do basic sewing using a foot-pedal machine. Up-to-date tailoring training cannot be provided for her simply because professional sewing machines are not available at our school. The provision of a new sewing machine will enhance learning as Ramatu will be exposed to and able to use modern, professional-level tailoring equipment.
This microproject will provide the funds needed for purchasing one professional sewing machine. This will diversify learning opportunities and enable Ramatu to be better trained and gain a higher level of tailoring skills. The provision of this vital tool will transform her learning abilities.
Ramatu will be empowered to move from poverty and unemployment to self-sufficiency. It will contribute to her development in skills for self-reliance and entrepreneurship, creating employment opportunities for Ramatu. Additionally, this will help provide a source of income to support the school as she will be able to produce a higher quality of garments - embroidered, etc.
