When Mar\u00eda, a student in Madrid, first joined a workshop run by AIPC PANDORA<\/a>, she thought innovation was only for tech companies. By the end, she was sketching solutions for her neighborhood and dreaming bigger about her role in it.<\/p>\n

Her story is one of thousands that have unfolded quietly and powerfully thanks to a partnership that\u2019s now almost 15 years in the making. <\/p>\n

This year, Ford and GlobalGiving reached a major milestone: $100 million granted to organizations fueling solutions to some of the world\u2019s toughest challenges.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

From aiding in disaster recovery in Spain, to making hot meals for students in Thailand, to hosting safe driving programs for expecting mothers in the Philippines, Ford\u2019s commitment has one steady throughline: sustained support that reaches communities when and where it\u2019s needed most.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis partnership speaks volumes about the power of supporting nonprofit partners who understand what their communities need the most,\u201d says Mary Culler, president of Ford Philanthropy.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It\u2019s also about long-term vision. For more than 15 years, Ford has stayed the course, choosing to invest in resilience, not quick fixes. That trust has fueled creativity, dignity, and strength in communities worldwide\u2014and it\u2019s setting the stage for the next generation of change.<\/p>\n

Global Reach, Rooted in Local Impact<\/h2>\n

Since one of Ford\u2019s earliest GlobalGiving grants in 2009, which helped build the giving donation page that now connects thousands of Ford employees to grassroots projects after disasters, Ford has steadily expanded its reach.<\/p>\n

After an earthquake in Turkey in 2011, Ford directed disaster relief through GlobalGiving, which has since expanded and helped provide aid to global communities in times of crisis, like in Mexico, Ukraine, Brazil.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ford\u2019s partnership with GlobalGiving now spans continents, sectors, and approaches:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Thailand<\/strong>: Scholars of Sustenance<\/a> turned Ford\u2019s support into thousands of hot meals each month for students and teachers.\n
  • Venezuela<\/strong>: others have gained culinary skills to provide for children in crisis, while young women are being trained as caregivers for the elderly through Coromoto 2020<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  • South Africa<\/strong>: Rally to Read<\/a> received a grant to provide literacy resources, teacher training, and family programs to underserved schools, including learner assistants and training to promote parental involvement in children’s education.<\/li>\n
  • \nSpain<\/strong>: Ford\u2019s investment has sparked an annual program where teachers implement innovative methodologies in their educational communities through Ford Impulsando Suenos alongside AIPC PANDORA<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/li>\n
