While it may not have been easy, we commend you for giving this year your best self\u2014you did great! Every act to make the world a better place counts, especially when it comes to advancing a gender-equal future.<\/p>\n<p>Now is the season of \u201cNew Year\u2019s Resolutions!\u201d What will make 2025 better?  For many, the answer is gender equality. So if you\u2019re looking to enhance your support for gender equality around the world, here are three good new year\u2019s resolutions you should explore:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<h3>1. Use your voice and your platform.<\/h3>\n<p>When millions of people oppose sexism in everyday contexts, the combined effect is world-changing. You can join this wave by using your voice to shut down sexist jokes or comments in your everyday spheres of influence\u2014at home, at work, and with your friends. A simple \u201cthat\u2019s not funny,\u201d or \u201cI don\u2019t like that,\u201d can carry a lot of weight in a social circle.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalgiving.org\/learn\/support-womens-reproductive-rights-this-election-season\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">challenges to reproductive rights<\/a> continue to grow, it\u2019s more important than ever to advocate for the right to make decisions about our bodies and health. This year, you can use your voice to encourage elected officials to support legislation that promotes gender equality or vote for leaders that already do. You can start with an internet search of \u201cWho are my elected officials?\u201d Or put this year\u2019s election dates on your calendar by searching for a \u201clocal election calendar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re active on social media, you can use your platform to share what inspires and keeps you committed to the gender equality movement.<\/p>\n<h3>2. Keep your inner critic  in check.<\/h3>\n<p>Sometimes, we are our own biggest critic. The world often pressures women to do more, be more, and to be perfect in every way. While you might not always be able to silence your inner critic, try investing in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/healthy-lifestyle\/consumer-health\/in-depth\/mindfulness-exercises\/art-20046356\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">mindfulness techniques<\/a> to reduce self-criticism and seek help in areas where you might need healing. <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s important to keep in mind that future feminists are always listening to you\u2014 whether they are your siblings, children, friends, or family. Talk about yourself like they\u2019re in the room, and keep in mind that your voice might become their inner voice one day. The ultimate key to gender equality is passing down understanding, kindness, and knowledge to future generations. <\/p>\n<p>Life is short\u2014be kinder to yourself in 2025. As you step into 2025, remember that your commitment to gender equality\u2014whether in the fight for reproductive rights or everyday acts of advocacy\u2014should come from a place of self-compassion, not self-criticism. True activism isn\u2019t about perfection; it\u2019s about showing up and doing what you can when you can.<\/p>\n<h3>3. Be intentional with your spending.<\/h3>\n<p>A powerful way to support gender equality is with your wallet, and this can be done in multiple ways. In your routine spending, look for easy switches you can make to support women-owned businesses. If you\u2019re able, include giving back in your budget. It\u2019s rewarding to support causes you care about, and reserving space for that in your budget will help ensure you\u2019re aligning your spending with your values. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Here are a few trusted organizations making a difference in the fight for reproductive justice:<\/strong><\/p>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalgiving.org\/projects\/cultivating-young-women-leaders-in-northern-ca\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Women\u2019s Health Specialist:<\/a><\/strong> This organization empowers women by providing reproductive health education and leadership skills.
