The Kenya Connect<\/a> team brought together the head teachers of their partner schools to get to the bottom of why new computers weren\u2019t being used. \u201cMost indicated that they have not been used due to the lack of training and understanding on how to use them,\u201d explained the Kenya Connect team.<\/p>\n After listening to community feedback Kenya Connect took action. \u201cAs a result of this information, our technology specialist worked with the Ministry of Education and one of the trainers for the tablets and developed a tablet training session at the Kenya Connect Learning Resource Center.\u201d<\/p>\n The trainings were a success. \u201cA total of 222 teachers from 48 schools were trained. We have been following the usage of the tablets in schools, especially the usage of a-ACADEMY digital content, which is in line with the curriculum. Many teachers have embraced the use of technology in their teaching. They are now comfortable to use the devices. We realized the how powerful it is to empower teachers with new skills as they take it far beyond our expectations.\u201d<\/p>\n The power of community feedback to make positive change is clear to the Kenya Connect team.
