Explore a list of grant and funding opportunities that might be a good fit for your nonprofit or business as you navigate new challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.


 

COVID-19 has altered daily life for everyone. As nonprofits and businesses grapple with the economic impact, many funders are stepping up to provide support through microgrants, hardship relief, and loan programs. GlobalGiving is working hard to help as many people as possible through our Coronavirus Relief Fund, our COVID-19 Hardship Microgrant Initiative, and other grant programs backed by our corporate partners. But we recognize our programs may not be the right fit for you, your nonprofit, or your small business. So, our team compiled this list of additional funding opportunities for you to explore:

Global Funding Opportunities for Individuals, Small Businesses, and Nonprofits

  • GrantStation—Updating a comprehensive list of organizations providing COVID-19 emergency assistance for nonprofits, individuals, and small businesses all over the globe
  • Candid.—Compiling a list of more than 200 emergency financial resources broken down geographically for individuals, nonprofits, and small businesses
  • Global Entrepreneurship Network—Sharing a hub for international support of entrepreneurs sorted by country and resource type provided
  • United Way—Committing to supporting individuals and communities worldwide who are impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak through hardship assistance
  • International Women’s Media Foundation—Accepting applications for grants up to $2,000 for women who identify journalists facing significant financial hardship, lost work, were recently laid off or who urgently need assistance due to the effect of COVID-19
  • Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)—Sharing a robust list of grants and financial resources for small businesses, globally, some specifically supporting women-led businesses
  • Council on Foundations—Curating a list of self-reported funders globally who are actively providing financial support to nonprofit organizations
  • Skoll Foundation—Providing a list of global funders and COVID-19 resources for community organizations
  • Worldwide Initiatives for Grantmaker Support (WINGS)—Compiling a global list and providing a map of funders and resources supporting individual and nonprofits globally

Funding Opportunities for Non-US-Based Nonprofits

  • Charities Aid Foundation—Providing funding resources for UK nonprofits that support their day-to-day activities
  • British Business Bank—Providing The Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS), supporting smaller businesses across the UK that are losing revenue and seeing their cash flow disrupted
  • Open Road Alliance—Offering a one-time, fixed, low-interest, $50,000 loan to organizations that are rescheduling/postponing their fundraising events until later this year
  • Open Road Alliance—Offering several funding options, including funding for to support the pivots needed when something unexpected changes your organizations plans.

Funding Opportunities for US-Based Small Businesses

  • Hello Alice—Offering $10,000 grants being distributed immediately to impacted small business owners
  • Hello Alice—Sourcing a list of funding opportunities and resources for Black founders
  • Small Business Administration—Compiling a list of resources and funding opportunities for small businesses with an emphasis on loans and updated information on the CARES Act
  • Entrepreneur—Listing 55 federal and state relief efforts to support entrepreneurs affected by COVID-19
  • Professional Beauty Association—Accepting applications for $500 grants to licensed beauty professionals, as well as complimentary membership for licensed professionals and non-licensed salon employees
  • COVID-19 Freelance Artists—Compiling a frequently updated extensive list of national and state-by-state financial support opportunities, including information on the Paycheck Protection Program Loans, part of the CARES Act
  • 1863 Ventures—Accepting applications for $5,000 grants and three months of business coaching to Black and Brown businesses to help navigate the immediate impact of COVID-19 and systemic inequity.

Funding Opportunities for US-Based Individuals

  • Giving Kitchen—Providing emergency relief grants for food industry workers in Georgia and compiling a Stability Network, a list of organizations providing food industry workers support state-by-state
  • USA.Gov—Summarizing the CARES Act, and how it can support your day-to-day needs due to the effects of COVID-19
  • Creative Capital—Listing local and national grants for artists and arts professionals affected by COVID-19
  • Sweet Relief—Accepting applications for musicians to support vital living expenses and offset the financial burden of canceled events
  • PFund— Providing support to the LGBTQIA community is accepting applications for their COVID-19 response fund on a rolling basis. The first round of funding is prioritizing people particularly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Caress + IFundWomen of Color—Providing grant funding and additional resources to the womxn BIPOC entrepreneur community.

While the effects of COVID-19 on our communities are substantial, so is the desire to provide support and solidarity. Our dream is that every single person in need is able to access the resources they need to make it through the crisis.
