Terms + Conditions

Dates + Participation Eligibility:

• GlobalGiving’s 2019 #GivingTuesday Campaign will begin Dec. 3, 2019, at 00:00:00 ET and end at 23:59:59 ET on Dec. 3, 2019.
• Organization eligibility: Active Partner, Leader, and Superstar organizations, with the exception of Indian-banked organizations, are eligible to participate in the 2019 #GivingTuesday campaign. Emerging organizations and GlobalGiving-sponsored projects and funds are also ineligible to participate in this campaign.
• Project eligibility: Active projects and microprojects of eligible organizations will be automatically included. New projects must be meet the submission deadline. Microprojects that expire during the campaign will not be extended past the 90 day time period.
• Submission deadline: The deadline for submitting new projects, project edits, project reports, and project appeals to be approved in time for inclusion in the #GivingTuesday campaign is Tuesday Nov. 26, at 17:00:00 ET.

Incentive Fund: 

• There will be a $500,000 Incentive Fund on #GivingTuesday.
• The Incentive Fund will be distributed to participants proportionally based on final fundraising totals. This means that, at the end of #GivingTuesday, the projects that bring in the most dollars will win the largest portion of the Incentive Fund and every project that activates donors will earn something.
• Each participant’s portion of the Incentive Fund is determined as follows: [Total Eligible Project Donations] ÷ [Total Donations To All Projects in the #GivingTuesday Campaign] * [$500,000] ≈ Your portion of the Incentive Fund
• Online donations up to $1,000 per unique donor per organization will count towards earning a portion of the Incentive Fund.
• Allocation of the Incentive Fund will be displayed on the leaderboard and will recalculate every three minutes until the board locks at 23:59:59 ET on Dec. 3, 2019.
• GlobalGiving will indicate in your donation manager which donations count towards your total raised on #GivingTuesday based on the time the donation was made and the method of payment.
• GlobalGiving reserves the right to make final decisions on all matters concerning the allocation of the Incentive Fund.

Bonus Prizes: 

• There will be ten Bonus Prizes totalling $42,000 to compete for on #GivingTuesday. Bonus prizes are broken up into two categories.
• Most Funds Raised: $10,000, $8,000, $6,000, $4,000, $2,000, $1,000
• Most Unique Donors: $5,000, $3,000, $2,000, $1,000
• Bonus prizes are awarded at the project level and organizations can only win one bonus prize per category above.
• Projects must raise donations from at least 20 unique donors to be eligible for bonus prizes.
• To maximize your chance of winning a bonus prize, pick one project to promote during the campaign.
• GlobalGiving reserves the right to make final decisions on all matters concerning the allocation of Bonus Prizes.

Donation Method + Eligibility: 

• Donation Eligibility: Online donations (credit card, debit card, PayPal, ApplePay, and individually purchased GlobalGiving gift cards) and mobile donations through M-Changa will count towards your total raised on #GivingTuesday.
• Donations must be made by the account or credit card holder.
• The following forms of donations are ineligible to count towards your total raised on #GivingTuesday: Cash, checks, text-to-give, CAF check, CAF online, wire transfers, donations made by JustGiving, corporate gift cards, donations made on GlobalGiving corporate or organizational giving site, or made directly to an organization rather than a project.
• GlobalGiving will monitor and review all donations made on #GivingTuesday. Any activity not in the spirit of requesting separate individuals to support donations is being moderated by GlobalGiving.
• GlobalGiving reserves the right to permanently disqualify organizations for any attempts of misconduct.
• Please note that all donations are final. GlobalGiving cannot change the time, date, or status of a donation after it is processed for any reason.

• GlobalGiving’s 100% Monthly Match has been available to our nonprofit community for all of 2019 and #GivingTuesday is no exception. Learn more about this concurrent offer and download the accompanying graphics!

Disbursements:

• The exchange rate for donations made in currencies other than USD will be estimated at the time of the donation, but may be subject to change until the donation settles with the donor’s bank or credit card. Funds will be disbursed using the exchange rate based on the settlement value of each transaction.
• Funds raised on #GivingTuesday plus your portion of the Incentive Fund and any bonus prizes won will be disbursed through the regular November disbursement cycle, sent in late December.

Tax Efficient Giving + Fulfillment Fee: 

• Tax Efficiency: GlobalGiving is a registered nonprofit charity in the United States and England and Wales. Donations made by eligible donors in the United States can be claimed as tax deductible contributions on United States tax returns. Donations made by eligible donors in the United Kingdom can claim Gift Aid (an extra 25% added to eligible donations by the UK Government) when they donate in GBP.
• Fulfillment Fee: GlobalGiving charges a minimal nonprofit support fee plus a 3% processing fee. For US and UK registered organizations the nonprofit support fee is 5%. Organizations outside the US and UK will be charged a 7% nonprofit support fee. During #GivingTuesday, the fee only applies to the initial donation and not to prize funds. The fee helps cover the costs we incur to promote your organization and projects, to provide you with fundraising training and tools, and to maintain and improve our online technology in order to keep you connecting with new donors.
