The GlobalGiving Girl Fund Campaign is your chance to win one of six year-long slots in the GlobalGiving Girl Fund.
The experience consists of a two-week crowdfunding campaign with matching funds available on International Women’s Day and one (optional) GG Rewards Effectiveness cycle.
Winners will be determined by campaign results and by peer selection.
Campaign Result Winners (4): Four projects with the most unique donors in the crowdfunding campaign will win a year-long slot in the fund. These organizations will choose the peer selected winners.
Peer Selected Winners (2): Two projects will be chosen to win a year-long slot in the fund by the four organizations that won the crowdfunding campaign as well as GlobalGiving staff. The selection will be based on their submitted effectiveness cycle and a short peer-led interview.
Crowdfunding Campaign: Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019, at 9:00am ET to Thursday, March 14, at 11:59pm ET
International Women’s Day Bonus Day: Friday, March 8 from 9:00am ET to 11:59pm ET
Effectiveness Cycle Submission Period: Feb. 1 - March 14

Winner’s Announcement: April 2
To participate, we invite GlobalGiving Partner, Leader, and Superstar organizations to submit one project with the main theme of “Women and Girls” in thisExpression of Interest form by Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019.
Microprojects and emerging organizations are not eligible to participate in this campaign.
GlobalGiving maintains final authority to determine project acceptance. Accepted projects must directly aim to empower women and girls in their mission and must be classified under “Women and Girls” theme.
In the event that there’s a tie for most unique donors, ranking will be determined by most funds raised during the campaign.
GlobalGiving will get back with every eligible project and confirm their participation in the campaign by Feb. 20.
During the two-week Effectiveness cycle selection period (March 15 - 29), submitted Effectiveness cycles will be reviewed by the Girl Fund panel of GlobalGiving staff and four campaign winners to select the final two spots.
GG Rewards is the system that GlobalGiving uses to recognize and reward partners for their efforts to learn, improve, and grow their impact. GG Rewards Effectiveness Cycles reflect our core value of listening, acting, learning, and repeating and rewards organizations that demonstrate these values. Create-Your-Own Effectiveness Cycles offer organizations the space to share their own stories of listening, acting, and learning.
Organizations must bring on at least 10 donors in the Girl Fund Campaign for their Effectiveness Cycle to be considered for one of the the two peer selected slots.
Cycle Criteria. After the crowdfunding campaign ends, selection of the two remaining spots in the GlobalGiving Girl Fund will be based upon one submitted Create-Your-Own effectiveness cycle that includes:
(1) Listening: listening to the people you intend to help, to your peers, or other stakeholders to identify a need or challenge in your community
(2) Acting: using feedback from participants and/or the local community to implement a solution and gather data
(3) Learning and repeating: analyzing the data to understand your results and determine next steps
Submitting a Create-Your-Own effectiveness cycle is not required to participate in the campaign but is highly encouraged to maximize your project’s chance of securing a 2019 spot in the Girl Fund.
Donation Eligibility + Disbursement
Only donations made by unique donors per project will qualify. Unique donors are determined using numerous criteria, including name, email address, credit card number, mailing address, and IP address. We monitor these and other parameters in our system to ensure that only unique, distinct donors are counted.
Eligible Donations: Debit card, credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, check, wire transfer, and individually purchased gift cards equivalent to $10 USD or greater, and mobile donations through M-Changa equivalent to $5 USD or greater.
Donations made via check and wire transfer must be received by the GlobalGiving office by March 8 to count in the campaign (but will not be eligible for the Bonus Day matching).
Online donations made using PayPal, Apple Pay, or credit card must be made by the account or credit card holder.
Ineligible Donations: Cash, text-to-give, CAF check, CAF online, donations made by JustGiving, corporate gift card redemptions, and donations made on any other GlobalGiving corporate or organizational giving sites, or organizational-level giving.
GlobalGiving will monitor and review all donations made through this campaign.
All donations are final. GlobalGiving cannot change the time, date, or status of a donation after it is processed for any reason.
The exchange rate for donations made in currencies other than USD will be estimated at the time of the donation, but may be subject to change until the donation settles with the donor’s bank or credit card. Funds will be disbursed using the exchange rate based on the settlement value of each transaction.
GlobalGiving maintains the right to make a final decision on all matters concerning the final results of the GlobalGiving Girls Fund campaign.
New Monthly Giving Match:
New monthly donations up to $200 per donor per project started during this campaign will get an additional 100% match on their initial donation as long as it remains active for a minimum of four payments.
Please note, monthly donations started by project leaders or staff of the recipient project or organization are not eligible for the 100% Monthly Match.
Tax Efficient Giving & Fulfillment Fee
Tax Efficiency: GlobalGiving is a registered nonprofit charity in the United States and England and Wales. Donations made by eligible donors in the United States can be claimed as tax deductible contributions on United States tax returns. Donations made by eligible donors in the United Kingdom can claim Gift Aid (an extra 25% added to eligible donations by the UK Government) when they donate in GBP.
Fulfillment Fee: GlobalGiving charges a minimal nonprofit support fee plus a 3% processing fee. For US and UK registered organizations the nonprofit support fee is 5%. Organizations outside the US and UK will be charged a 7% nonprofit support fee. During the Year-End Campaign, the fee only applies to the initial donation and not to prize funds earned. The fee helps cover the costs we incur to promote your organization and projects, to provide you with fundraising training and tools, and to maintain and improve our online technology in order to keep you connecting with new donors.
